We've ordered NE Kids online and liked it. We bought great kid furniture at Great Beginnings but that particular manufacturer went out of business. I think it was Rumble Tuff and they were searching for a new owner or something. Loved their stuff.

It's hit or miss but etsy will have reasonably priced pieces and I've always thought macys has good furniture collections. Etsy is all handmade stuff nationally so the trick is to buy as close as possible to avoid shipping fees that break the bank but for the same price as a store brought generic piece I'd go for the beautiful one I also keep a eye I craigslist/ebay.

We purchased solid wood furniture for our kids from Great Begginings. I can't remember the name of the company, but I think they are located in NH.

Ditto on the Young America. Just added a new piece and it has soft close drawers - love it.

I'm fed up with the big chains like Room & Board, Pottery Barn and C&B. All their wood is actually a paltry amount of "wood solids" and MDF. I'd like solid wood, please. Where does one find furniture like that?

I saw a company called Newport Cottage online. Looks promising, but they don't have any local showrooms.

I'd love to get my DD a bed, dresser and desk. I'm open to plywood, but just not MDF or particleboard. TIA
