If there is a Wegmans you can get to, their cheese selection is amazing. Also, you can buy Uncle Julio's chips & salsa for takeout. I bought some for a party I had a couple years ago and they were the first thing gobbled up.

I second the flatbreads from TJ. Oh and the Brie in pastry that you bake is lovely (just don't overbake it).

I just served the TJ's hotdogs in buns and despite how low class and tacky we all think they are, all four trays of them were gobbled up and none were left over. Bacon wrapped scallops also a big hit.

So many great apps at TJs. Love the cold spinach dip with veggies, also the heat & serve spinach & artichoke dip in frozen section. Other favorites are the mini beef tacos and the little chicken egg rolls with black beans corn etc. serve both with sour cream and guac. They also have the little mozz balls marinated in flavored oil. I like to skewer them on toothpicks with grap tomatoes and a leaf of basil. You could also get the frozen cocktail meatballs and do the sweet & sour meatballs (1 jar grape jelly, 1 jar chili sauce)

Safeway has some that are really good--I thinkntheyre the Safeway Select brand. Puffs with Brie and fig, or pastry with Gorgonzola and carmelized onions. A friend was serving them at a party and they were so good I had to ask if she had a recipe.
For various ages or just adults? I love TJ's for this. The flatbread tarts are delish (I forget what they are called - thy pretend to be french - one is mushroom and cheese); spanikopita; cocktail meatballs; mac and cheese balls.

Shrimp cocktail. We bought a few bags of frozen pre-cooked shrimp at Giant and it was surprisingly good.
