And I tell them that no one else is concerned and we don't worry about that type of thing in our house (lots of eating disorder issues in both my family and DH's family).

"This is the third time you've made a comment about Larla's size. Her pediatrician is fine with it, and that's all that matters to me. Please don't bring it up again." Then take Larla and walk out of the room. Be pleasant as pie with them for the rest of the visit.

They called ahead to tell DH that he "better" have FIL's favorite chair in the room with the tv (normally, the chair is in a different room). We moved the chair, then they came in, cleared off my ipad and stack of bills/mail from a table, moved the table next to FIL, cleared off the holiday cards I had on display on a shelf, put FIL's things on the shelf, and then turned on the tv, which remained on for the next 36 hours approximately. DH made a nice brunch. FIL declined and instead ate Froot Loops, which he had brought from home, directly from the box. They also brought their own soda, granola bars, and chips, and then FIL requested two large baby ruth candy bars and more chips so we went to the store. They brought tons of presents for DD, all of which are princess themed. FIL and DH argued constantly about politics and current events, and over the remote. FIL did not leave the house all weekend.

Thanks for the laugh. Froot loops got me going. I'm debating whether to bother cooking anything nice for Christmas breakfast because my DH will probably just eat cereal.

First time comment is made:
"We follow recommended schedule for pediatrician visits, and doctor says she is well within the range of normal for her age."

Second time comment is made:
"As I already told you, [repeat above].

Third time:
Punch them.

Ugh, this is so irritating. Tell them the same thing I tell my 4 yo, which is that people come in all shapes and sizes. I hope you use the same tone I use with my 4 yo too.

Signed,

We did have a very nice time with MIL at zoolights. That memory will give me strength for the next visit.

Why would YOUR boyfriend freak out? And how old are you anyway?

Is she not allowed a boyfriend? I don't understand the problem.

Why do you have a boyfriend? Don't be surprised that the choices you made are going to impact your DDs poor mate choices.

We usually split up Xmas bt my family and DH's. DH's family is going through a really stressful time, so I thought it would be nice to spend more time with them. Just got here last night and they've already made me feel unwelcome, like a terrible mom, and pretty much banished me to his bedroom with DD bc they think she's tired and needs a nap bc she threw a bit of a fit. We don't have a car here or the internet, DH had to go to do something with FIL and won't be back for several hours. I'm stuck with just my phone.
Already I've been told I can't eat the fruit bc it's for SIL and DD. and then I was told that I couldnt make everyone pancakes or eggs bc the kitchen is clean- btw, no one had breakfast yet- I was the first one awake. So all they had for us were sweets or breads. Then I all I heard was how SIL is so healthy all she eats for breakfast is fruit no carbs. And then they gave me workout tips.
I was helping with dinner last night and apparently didn't peel the potatoes well enough bc MIL kept taking back the potatoes and cutting off the last teensy bits of skin that were still on them.

I'm still at work, dealing with workplace crazy. Only these people could make me miss the insanity of family and inlaws. I can't wait for tomorrow afternoon.
