Pick up a floor fan from Walmart. You would be surprised by how much that helps.

The heat is a good excuse to get away from the ILs and go for the hotel.

Agree. You'll feel a lot better with the air moving. You should also take a cold shower before you to bed. Very cooling.

Sounds like prison if you can't open the windows! A fan blowing hot air wouldn't cut it for me. I'd choose hotel.

Can't you ask that they turn the heat down or give you a fan to run in the bedroom? Most people want their guests to be comfortable. Blame it on the change of life, if you can.

Wear less clothes, maybe go on a shopping trip for some lighter layers. It will still cost less than $200 and less family drama.

No advice but boy do I sympathize. We have a very narrow window of weather during which it's tolerable to visit my in-laws. They don't turn the AC on in the summer, and in the winter they set the heat to the mid-80s. And hotels around their apartment (the CBD of Seoul) are eye-poppingly expensive. Koreans all have some genetic condition that makes them not sweat hardly at all, and it was news to them that white people will sweat like a pig at 85 degrees even if they're just sitting on the couch. Oh well. That's the worst complaint I have about my in-laws, so they're pretty good in the grand scheme of things.

For you... definitely mosquito netting. And my sympathies.

Yes, I am sure they would be offended. But on the other haand I dont think it is reasonable to keep the inside temperature in the high 80s.
Tent or netting is a good idea.

Go rent a tent or netting from a sporting goods store.

Hotel is my vote. But I like to sleep at about 65 degrees. I could not tolerate it at 80 or higher. Would inlaws be offended if you get a hotel?
