A chimichanga by definition is deep-fried. If it isn't deep fried, it is a burrito. I know I have seen a chimichanga on a tex mex menu in the DC area, but I can't remember where. Maybe check Guapo's menu.

OP, please do not malign the chimichanga by associating it with Chi-Chis. It may not have originated in Oaxaca or Mexico City but the chimichanga certainly predates that crappy restaurant and has an important place in the cuisine of the Sonoran a Desert region.

My DS loves chimichangas. Unfortunately, this creation of ChiChi's in the 80's seems to have gone the way of the dinosaur; there is no restaurant in my area of MD that serves it. While this may be the best for my DS's health and wasteline, it seems sad that he can't have this "treat" once in a while. Does anybody know of a place that still makes this?
