The furniture at PB is all made by other companies, and different companies. Some of it is high quality, some of it is crap. Also - you can often get PB things on Overstock.

We bought a bunk bed from there. Turns out that the people who delivered and assembled it didn't screw the ladder in properly and we nearly had a serious accident.

We bought a queen storage bed at PB at the Tyson's store and paid the outrageous shipping fees. However, we totally love the bed and could not find something comparable elsewhere. We've bought other PB furniture in the past and have been happy with the quality.

The US makes such great furniture, it's not necessary to buy furniture made in China.

Hi can you pls provide a little more detail on this? What's the waiting list for and how can I get on it? I've gotten some 20% off coupons from them before in my email but it always excludes furniture. Would love to get a 25% off coupon. THanks!

We have PB armoire. It is well built, sturdy and survived three moves. Anything delivered assembled is high quality; stuff u assemble is like ikea.

Sadly armoire is by far our nicest furniture piece, and since tvs went flat, they are soo out!

Pottery Barn is really a rip off. Better to buy something used or antique. Their products often have a terrible odor, also.

I find all of the furniture to be very poorly made. The desks are mostly MDF and not real wood. I have never seen anything made in America, mostly all Asia. Tale all those surcharges and buy quality furniture that will last. Even Crate and Barrel has a lot of furniture manufactured in North Carolina.

Still happy with my PB Basic sofa bought eight years ago. But it is made by Mitchell Gold.

I bought a coffee table from PB 5 years ago and it is not holding up well. The finish on the wood is actually peeling off and it looks horrible. At this point I am just letting my kids beat on it since it couldn't look any worse. After that purchase I swore off buying furniture from them.

The furniture that I have purchased has not been high quality. It looks pretty, but it is not made well. My table has scratches, and my credenza drawers do not close easily. They come of the track. Anyway, I would go with Belfort. Their furniture has exceeded my expectations. They also have an office section in their store.

Agree that PB can be overpriced, especially with shipping. However, if you are determined to buy things there I'd recommend the PB Credit Card because you can earn dollars credited to future purchases. Just be sure you pay off everything charged in 30 days to avoid the ridiculous finance charges!

Keep searching. Honestly, I have bought a few things from them and several times I have found a similar product for much less later. Yet I don't learn the lesson. I bought a Bedford Desk. Saw one that is so similar at IKEA!! Bought a Pottery barn vanity (outrageous shipping) and the next time I found another online somewhere else that is just as nice. I did buy some stuff and it was damaged when it arrived. I brought it to the store and they said they would exchange it. (Chevy Chase store). Every one they brought out was also damaged. I just returned it. The one real wood item I did keep cracked in a visible spot within a year. Obviously the wood wasn't very old when they stained it and hadn't dried out enough. So there is that.... It is stained pine. Save you money.

So, I was looking online at Pottery Barn and really want to get the large logan Desk. It is not cheap, but once they tack on their OUTRAGEOUS surcharge and shipping fees, it adds way more than 10% onto the price of the furniture. They are already obnoxiously overpriced and even if I have the money, I can't justify dumping it down the drain.

Has anyone successfully gone into the store and purchased from them and gotten the sales people to remove shipping and surcharges. If not, then, I'll keep on searching for the perfect desk.
