Stop it. Brings back so many memories. We used to live 3 blocks away!

Is the Pillar House long gone? I think I had my first shrimp cocktail there.

OP here - thank you so much for recs so far! They're near Burlington, so northernish would be great!

I know it's long gone, but I picture OP wanting something like Pillar House.

Where are your ILs, OP? North shore, south shore, western suburbs?

Neptune Oyster in the North End. It's amazing and superb cozy. I think it's worth the hassle of driving into Boston.

Not an old home at all, but I like Blue Ginger in Wellesley.

Looking to take our in-laws out for a nice 40th anniversary lunch in the Boston area over the holidays (actually would prefer NOT in Boston to not deal with the driving hassle). Somewhere cozy, quiet, and special-feeling (though we're bringing our baby). Perhaps something like an old home with a fire or something? Recommendations welcome!
