Indoor outdoor rug!! You can hose them off or just put them in the shower if they get dirty. Dirt just runs off of them.

I haven't had one yet in the house, and the amount of dirt that gets tracked to the shoe station is truly unbelievable. I'm hoping a runner will help with some of that (will it? please say yes?)

Any thoughts on what material? wool v. synthetic?

thanks! i need less dirt in my house (with two little boys, it's a tall order, i know!)

We got the water hog runner from LL Bean and it is great. Looks fine but we can literally take it outside and hose it off if it gets muddy. Its heavy and doesn't move around or get sucked up when we vacuum.

We have a sisal rug. Our entry is small and we use one with a anti-slip backing. it's perfect in all weather and protects our hardwood floors.

It comes in lighter colors, but the brown matches the stain of our wood.

We found a surpassingly nice indoor outdoor runner at Overstock.
