You might want to ask in Penn Quarter parents or Kids in the Triangle where actual parents have kids in the school.

Thomson is very difficult to get into OOB in the younger grades. Check the data, but I don't think they've gone more than 10-20 down the wait list for the past several years.

We have our IB child attending PS3/PK4 and we love it. Our child loves attending the school. It is a hidden gem. It has a great learning environment with dedicated staff and a wonderful mix of nationalities. Scores are on their way up: 71% proficiency in mathematics and 60% proficiency in reading on the last DC-CAS. Go for a visit at the next open house, call the principal, and speak to other parents.

Get out of this viper pit and call the school. Ask to be put in touch with parents from the PTA. One officer is a sensible former teacher who just negotiated with a developer to get playground upgrades. Meet with Principal Carmen Shepherd who is smart, capable and eager to get the word out about her school.

I had a decent lottery number last year and a WL number in the teens and never got called (OOB). I think for lower grades they are 95% inboundary.

You could start by spelling the school's name correctly. There's no P in it.

They are an IB school. They do not have aftercare for early childhood. That's pretty much all I know.

Historically lots of MD plates at drop off. An indication that people were using it b/c it was easy for work.

Also, it's named after a guy called "Strong John Thompson," which is pretty memorable. Anyone have more detailed information, especially WRT the early years?
