Only one here too and probably too much. We don't buy things any other time of the year besides DS's birthday (10) and Christmas was always big in my house. With an only, I feel like I need more presents for it to be "Christmas" - I know totally my problem. I had 5 siblings growing up so lots of presents under the tree. Probably spend $800-$1000 - those darn Lego sets really add up, esp. the big intricate ones that he now likes. Of course, Santa get to claim more than half that loot which is OK by me, but it rubs my husband the wrong way since he never grew up with Santa.

I only have 1 and I didn't count it up. Also, since he has a winter birthday I tend to buy more than I will give at Christmas, and then decide what's to be for Christmas, and what will wait until his birthday.
I do know it is less than last year since last year I bought an Xbox. This year there was one pricey Lego set -- like $80 I think.

It's hard to say. On one hand, I only bought my son one pair of cleats for Hanukkah - that's $40. On the other hand, I have registered him for surfing camp in Maui for $240 and - oh, yes - paid for us to take a trip there.

Small kid- 4, who didn't ask for much and doesn't have any big things she needs right now (as in, she has a bike and such). I spent $150 on gifts and another $50 on the stocking.

Between 75-100 per kid. Two kids, but they are small-- 3 and 1.

My two kids gets stuff throughout the year. I asked them what they wanted for xmas and they genuinely didn't have a good answer.

That said, I've never spent $500 in one shot on a kid's toy. That seems like a lot. I guess it would be a game console plus some accessories and games, but they would be sharing that.

Way too much - so I don't even like to calculate. Usually one 'big' gift around $100 (for example, a kindle with a cover for one of them this year), five or six smaller gifts ($30-35 each), books (probably run about $20-25 total), and stocking stuffers (probably another $20-25). So that would bring me to about $350 per child.

My credit card bill is higher, but I also use the Christmas time sales to stock up on birthday gifts.

This year we're going big with presents and it's around $230 per kid. We typically just go to visit the in laws in Florida and spend the day at a park -- with minimal presents. But, this year, we're staying home and doing presents. With the cost of electronics, it probably isn't too hard to get to $500 these days. And if you are including clothes/shoes, it would also stack up.

I'm just not big on a lot of material things since we have so much clutter in our house already... so $230 seems like a lot more clutter to me.
