Interestingly, we lived at Ft. Ord when it still had base housing. We were there while it was developing into CSUMB. The campus isn't exactly like a traditional campus that you might envision here on the East Coast.

We just drove past here, and I concur, it is not on a beautiful stretch of the coast.

We currently live in Monterey. CSUMB is located on land in Seaside, CA that used to be Ft Ord Army base about ten minutes north along Highway 1. It is not very pretty and is very small and new, no views of the bay etc. I would put it on par with a Longwood or Radford type school. Its proximity to the Monterey Bay aquarium is great if your student is interested in marine biology.

It is about an hour or hour and a half from San Jose or San Fran Airports.

Public college in California. Cal State University Monterey Bay. It's a costal town in central CA.

DD got a pamphlet in the mail from them. Anybody know about this school???
