Pastry Xpo - Mosaic center. I haven't actually tried their yule log, but I've seen one in the store and it was gorgeous, and everything else I've tried there was delicious.

Yule Log cakes are very popular with Vietnamese, due to French colonization influence. You could check out Eden Center. They tend to be very light.

I love the sound of these bakeries! I bet they make a good Black Forest cake.

Sorry. I am thinking about cake too much.

I think the Swiss Bakery on Braddock road does them.

I was telling my kids how I always wanted a Yule Log cake when I was a kid and that my parents would never buy one. My 5 year old decided we HAD to get one this year for me to finally try. Anywhere in NoVA we can find a really good one? The kids are obsessed with the one on the Baskin Robbins ad, but I'd love one from a bakery. I definitely want to make one in future years, but I have two other younger kids and my DH is traveling a lot between now and Christmas, so it's not a project I want to undertake until the kids are a little older. Thanks!
