You either use witty responses and keep being upset OR shut her up for good with a serious conversation privately between the two of you

Shuts them up firmly, and is still polite. The key is you and DH both have to use this line on EACH person, no matter HOW they ask or tease or make statements about how you should. They'll get the hint after a few times.

Stare, then change the subject.

Or try humor:
"We sold all our embryos on eBay."
"But when the buyer returned them, we donated them to a research lab."

Or, nastier:
"DH wants another child, so I told him he could find another wife."
"Is your womb available perchance?"

Honestly, I'm floored that people would have the audacity to suggest this to you.

I don't get it, why can't you just say "no, at this time we aren't planning anything with them. Please stop asking". If you've done that and she still keeps asking, a witty response isn't going to shut her up.

No, we decided to try for a mix. Part girl part boy.

Husband & I tried for several years before we were able to have 2 boys and husband wants another child but I'm done. Our oldest boy is 2 and youngest is 10months. SILs know that we still have several frozen embryos left and never miss a chance to ask if we'll try for a girl using PGD. I need some witty responses ready when I see them in person in a couple weeks. I don't want to give away too many details other than that I don't want to piss them off, just need to shut them off for good about this topic.

Any suggestions?
