If he's not going to play in college, why do you think his experience on the football team will be a factor in admissions? I know there are people who think that all engineers are dweebs who've never played sports, but that's always been far from the truth. MIT's football team this year is 10-0 and went to the D3 playoffs.

You can get some idea from Naviance. You also need to at least try to narrow down big/small, urban/rural, greek? sports? etc. But often (always?) the engineering department is harder to get into at a college. The stats are not top engineering (MIT, CMU Harvey Mudd), so I'd start looking after that. UD, UMD, PITT, Purdue, VT, etc.

I saw an earlier thread about engineering schools. But didn't want to restart an old thread.

DS is a junior 3.76, 2130 sat, 32 act. Very strong in AP physics and calc. He likes UMD because of proximity to NASA.

I'm sure he would be annoyed if he found out I was Asking, but any reccomendations?
