So you're able to move to be in-bounds for a school you like? You'd probably be satisfied at any school west of Rock Creek Park. While there are some great EotP options out there, you'd probably experience more stress with the whole process.

Actually, at the elementary level, you have many good options. Where DCPS gets into trouble is at the middle- and high-school level. For example, I just spoke with a friend whose son is at their in-bounds Capitol Hill elementary schools (Ludlow-Taylor) and she was incredibly impressed by the school and the teachers.

Myschoolsdc.com is a good place to start--it will tell you what your in-bounds school is, and has links to every school's web site and some ratings.

OP - I suggest you do NOT do what this poster suggests. DCUM is not a good source about which schools are best for your child and misinformation is all over this site. Instead, do you own research, visit the schools, and talk to parents who have children currently attending. If I had listened to any of the advice thrown out on DCUM, I would have never picked the school we are current at (which we love by the way).

Do your own research, OP. With your attitude, though, I would suggest moving to the 'burbs.
