I saw Dr. Abbasi for a year. 4 natural cycle IUIs, no pregnancies. 1 fresh cycle IVF with 5 5 day embryos and successful pregnancy, but miscarried a week after positive beta. Then successful FET and baby is now 4 months old! Really love Dr. Abbasi which made us tolerate the extremely frustrating front desk staff.

Their 2012 statistics were abysmal for frozen transfers, including donor egg. 4% success rate for own egg FET and 6% for donor FET. Donor egg FET especially should NEVER have that low of a success rate so I can't help but attribute both results to poor lab technique. Of course, the data is from several years ago and maybe techniques have changed since then but it was definitely enough reason to send me elsewhere.

I'm currently seeing Dr. Abbasi and I like her enough to put up with the front staff. I have been reading lately a lot about concerns people have about their lab, this makes me very nervous. Is there anything specific about their lab that perhaps I should know about?

I'm with Dr. Sacks and have done 5 cycles of TI/Clomid; just started my first IUI cycle with injectables. I like most of the nurses and Dr. Sacks, but have definitely had my frustrations as well, similar to the PPs.

Have you met their new nurse Cat? She's by far the best thing that has happened to CFA. I've been with them for years and this girl is amazing. Try to work with her if you can but she's in the DC office.

I went to SG and then CFA. I agree that CFA is disorganized and the people working the front desk are scatter-brained and don't really care. If I hadn't done a cycle at SG first I would have been completely lost at CFA. That said, I did get pregnant with CFA.

Which office are you going to? I left SG for Dr. Abbasi specifically and go to the Bethesda office. So far, everyone has been great, especially in comparison to SG. I think it matters who your Dr. is and what your issues are. I went to see Dr. Abbasi because I knew I had an autoimmune disorder that my SG doctor wasn't paying attention to even though I was jumping up and down. I would go with your gut.

I had the same experience last month as well op. Too many things to list but I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth. I decided it wasn't something I wanted to deal with while cycling and am now at sg. They are much busier, perhaps for a reason, but they're professional and seem to have it together.

OP, success at CFA or elsewhere is not always dependent on the doctor....each patient is different. Doctors are not Gods. That said, I wish you the best of luck.

The front desk was terrible; the nurses varied vastly in quality (same everywhere else) and my angel of a nurse left, as did many of my subsequent nurses. I did get pregnant after 5 IUIs and 1 fresh IVF cycle, and really love Dr. Sacks. However, I did not return to CFA when trying for baby #2, because I've read bad things about their lab and FET success rates.
