French toast for sure! I love sourdough but I wouldn't want to use it for PB&J either.

I can understand this. My kids and I love sourdough, but my wife hates it. She says it tastes like spoiled bread.

In general, if you don't like the taste, then you want to use it in a way that hides or masks the flavor. Making something like garlic bread with it where the garlic flavor can mask the sour taste is probably best for you. If you want sandwiches, perhaps some roast beef with horseradish majo or horseradish cheddar cheese.

I was going to say butter too but saw that you wanted sandwiches. Definitely the savory and fresh direction.

I loved sour dough bread with orange marmalade when I was pregnant. Totally addicted.

No one in our family likes sourdough bread. But the other day my husband bought two loaves by accident. I'm trying to figure out what I can put on it for my kids' lunches that they will like.
I tried one of our stand-by sandwiches, peanut butter and honey, and apparently it was awful (as I can imagine). They also like Nutella sandwiches, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't work on sourdough either. Today I did tuna, we'll see how that went after they get home. I tried cheese in yesterday's lunch, but they said that tasted awful.

So, what is best on sourdough? (particularly interested in something that isn't too elaborate for a kid's school lunch)
