We got ours for 20% off (though not the shearling). Still, I know it's kind of ridiculous for a bean bag. But at least we can keep it out in plain sight.

Aaah products. They used to be in Fairfax but I think they moved to Ashburn. Any way, you can send or drop off fabric and they will make to order. They also have have a big selection on their website.

I saw these a couple of weeks ago while blog reading. Pretty cute and seemingly functional:

I hate to admit that I bought one from Restoration Hardware (because it was the only fabric I could find that didn't offend me). It's held up really, really well, and I'm considering buying another because, franky, I love sit in it to watch tv sometimes and sometimes I have to fend the kids off.

I bought one off Ebay new from a company that sells nothing but bean bags and it was excellent quality and a very reasonable price - lots of sizes and colors to pick from. A few years later I bought two from pottery barn that were crap and very expensive - I gave them to Goodwill less than a year later.

I bought an empty bean bag at BedBath&Beyond (around $20), then a bag of foam beads from KMart ($13), the beads are decent size, not those tiny ones.

A bean bag chair is a pretty basic thing. Unless you want to blow a bunch of money, most of them are a bag with little tiny foam beads. And the kids will not care a whole lot about much else.

From there, you can find fabrics that are easy to wipe down vs. fabrics that are plush. My kids like the plush ones.

My kids want bean bag chairs for Christmas. Never bought them before, so I'm looking for guidance on where/how to find a good one and which ones to avoid. There has to be something between pottery barn and target, right? Kids are 9, 6 and 4, so not huge. Yet. Thanks!
