This is OP. The PP was spot on (as were others). Wow!!! I've always disliked spinach, but the palak chaat was out of this world! And the black cod was magnificent...as were the cocktails (I particularly enjoyed a gin, mint, and curry leaf drink).

The dinner was a huge success.

I'm Indian and I consider Rasika's food Indian food. I agree that some of the dishes are creative and not quite typical but many of the dishes use the standard spices and preparations- We love the tandoori salmon. That should be easily digested. Stay away from the curries if you have digestive issues- they are delicious but can stick with you.

Irrespective of whether you like or don't like the food at Rasika, please understand that the food at Rasika is not Indian food. It is what is euphemistically referred to as "fusion" cuisine and is prepared to cater to Western tastes.

You will not find the cuisine served at Rasika at any of the better Indian restaurants in India.

I have gone there with a dairy-free, gluten-free friend who is able to find plenty to eat.

Palak chaat is a must, and I love the Chicken Green Masala, but it's quite spicy.

Current co-worker used to be a server at Rasika, she said the food is made in advance (something to be expected with Indian food IMO) and that they put unbelievable amounts of butter and cream.

I am addicted to the Cauliflower Bezule. FYI, I am gluten-free and have myriad stomach issues, but usually am just fine at Rasika. I think they use less ghee/cream than most Indian places.

I'd agree that the waiters are great at recommendations based upon your tastes/mood. Yes, black cod is delish.

The waiters are very helpful there and can make recommendations based on what you tell them....not spicy, preferences, dislikes, etc. it's fun to share dishes rather than order just for yourself... So that might allow you to try different things and then focus on what you like best rather than get stuck with an entree you don't like.

If you're concerned about flavor you can't go wrong. Seriously, everything there is excellent. The black cod is mild (and delicious), Even friends who don't usually like Indian food love this dish and I don't think it would cause any digestive issues, so that might be a good choice for you.
