Coos Bay! Also, Hood River even though it's not on the coast, it's in the middle of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge and is at the confluence of the Columbia and Hood Rivers. Gorgeous mountain views - Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and sometimes Mt. St. Helens.

We stayed in Cannon Beach and Yachats. Two very different towns but both were lovely in their own ways.

Seaside is full of meth addicts. I am not kidding. Of course the natural beauty of the coast is lovely in seaside, but that is also true in all the other coastal towns -- without the loser, sad people hanging around. I'd move on.

Cannon Beach, Pacific City, haystack rock, stay at inn at cape kiwanda. If you are lucky you'll catch a storm on the beach. Brookings- go camping at Harris state park. Go whale watching. Tide pool hopping. Tons of small beach towns. just drive highway 101 and you can't go wrong. Go visit the redwoods in Southern Oregon. If you venture away from the coast check out Ashland and catch a show at the Shakespeare festival, or go to Bend. Oregon has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

Cannon Beach is the popular tourist destination and not too bad of a trip from Portland (assume that's where you will fly to). The beach becomes more remote/small town as you head south. What are you looking for in a destination?

I dont know anything about it but I really want to visit too, it's so beautiful in pictures.
