I have immense respect for how hard Jeff's job is and how hard he works, and I referenced that in my first post. But I work with kids and this issue is a big one, and this is one of the best articles I've read about it. I just want to get it to the right audience, and I'm not asking for any crazy or labor-intensive action.

Wow OP simmer down. After the last couple weeks the last thing Jeff needs is a crazy technology lady. Maybe you need to get off the computer and go play outside.

And I would just add, if I'd known you would take it down, I'd have only posted it in General Parenting over Older kids. Developmentally, those first 0-5 years are the most developmentally determining. It's far more important that parents of 0-5 kids know this info than older kids, because even though it still matters as they get older, some of the most influential brain and behavior development has already happened by the time you're reading the older kid forum.

If you will not allow it in both, can I please post it again in General Parenting and you can remove it if you must from Older Kids? I work in child welfare and feel this info is so UNDER-understood and so influential, more so every day.

Even though they are effectively to two different audiences? You can tell from the posts: mostly parents of 0-7 or 8ish kids post on General parenting, and older kids (5ish-older teens) post on Older Kids. The article covers 0-18, which is why it seemed relevant for both. You're the Mod so you know the content of each forum - wouldn't you agree they are functionally 2 different audiences, for whom both this info is relative?

I post here a lot, and never cross post anything, but this seemed like very relevant info, and while I read both fora and have kids in both age ranges, it's pretty obvious that mostly only parents like me read both; most only read one or the other which you can tell really clearly by posts and responses.

You're in control, so all I can do is point it out, but it seems like maybe you should consider that there are times when it's actually relevant to post in both sections or 2 different sections, if the subject matter is useful and clearly relevant to 2 different audiences.

Hi Jeff, I just posted a thread in General Parenting with a link to an article about the negative impacts of too much technology on children. It's one of the best articles I've read on it and has concrete recommendations about use and times and content. I posted it and it's gone in less than 30 min. Did you remove it, and if so, why is that an inappropriate topic for Parenting? It's not just health, its about the choices we make about what our kids are exposed to. Just trying to understand why it would have been deleted and what the more appropriate forum would be, given that that's the "General Parenting" thread and this are major general parenting considerations?

I know you have a million things to monitor here, but I was really surprised to see this go away.
