It would bother me bc I'm paying for it. You better believe my kid is going to go. It's 2x a week too, so missing a day to sleep in (not a good excuse in my eyes) is sorta a lot.
Most pre k start at 9am, seriously, you're nephew is still asleep at that time? Odd.

Elementary school starts late where I am, at 9:25, and the school bus doesn't come until 9:05. I'd drop off at preschool around 8:40 truck the big kids home again in time to pick up their backpacks and get to the bus stop without rushing. The preschool allowed people to drop off as early as 7:30 even though the planned curriculum didn't start until 9:00.

What your sister is doing is disrespectful. You make a commitment, you keep the commitment.

OP here I should clarify she just wasn't going to send her DC at all...not bring him in late. So she wouldn't be distributing the classroom but than again it would be a full (already paid for) day out.

I'm with your sister. Very lax about preschool and really don't mind if my child misses days of school. I think they will have the rest of their lives to stress out about going to school, college, work, etc.

Totally fine with taking them out for a day or a week, or whatever. I don't usually take them later than 9 because their activities usually start then and I don't want to be disruptive.

I feel I am pretty lax about my son missing a day or two hear or there for something special with the family. I am also not very strict about him being late if there is a reason such as an appointment, under the weather, and sleeping in (mainly because I have an only child at the moment and don't have other older kids to get off to different schools). We in general are not late often, but I don't stress out when we are.

When we had our daughter in the preschool class at a daycare center, I was lax - most days we got there early for work, but when we didn't have to be, we all slept in - it was all the same to the staff either way.

Now that she's at an actual preschool that's attached to a K-8 and we'd have to get a note from the principal if she's more than 15 minutes late, and there's more of a curriculum, we get her there on time.

Some of the moms would wait until their older kids got on the bus before taking the youngest to preschool. I had that attitude about nursery school, yes. It was a good school and my children wanted to go, but if they were under the weather or sleeping in, that was fine.

I was talking to my sister on the phone this morning and she mentioned her DC was still sleeping. I asked if she had to wake him for preschool and she simply responded "nah, if he's sleeping than I just let him sleep. its not like he will miss a chem final." She is a VERY good mom and has 3 wonderful kids but I was kinda taken aback how lax she was about him attending. I confirmed throughout the conversation that he wasn't sick or anything, just sleeping. Is that odd or do others view preschool the same way?
