Some of the moms would wait until their older kids got on the bus before taking the youngest to preschool. I'd always drag all of my kids with me to drop off my youngest at preschool and then get my other kids to the bus stop. I figured that if I was going to shell out a bundle for preschool, I was going to get my money's worth.
On the other hand, I think your friend is right. It's not an AP class they're missing.
What other choice would they have? Is the bus for elementary school so late that you could drop off at preschool at 9 and still make the older kids' bus?
My child almost never sleeps late, so when he does, I figure that he needs it. That's more important than a few minutes of preschool.
It would be rude to come to school late every day for no good reason, but once in a while, of course!
