Around 150 for 7 people

So far $120 but I still need to get about $40 more food. I have a family of 6. I make everything from scratch except the rolls because my kids just love the heat and serve kind.

Same here. The grocery bill totals high, but I remind myself that I'm getting 2 or 3 days worth of meals out of it, not to mention how priceless turkey sandwiches with the fixings are at 10pm at night for a post meal!

They had $5.00 turkeys at a local store (they were small) but people were really stocking up. So a $5 turkey, stuffing mix, potatoes and cranberry sauce would get you the basics

I have no idea but considering I can't figure out how to cook regular dinner for 2 adults and a toddler for less than $50, I'm pretty sure I'm hundreds over the national average.

That sounds way low.

That's insane! It must be all canned/frozen. We buy the $80 cooked turkey from WF and I've probably spent another $150 for apps, sides, and drinks. All sides will be from scratch and mostly organic. There are just 5 of us, so there will be leftovers.

I will also be serving 18 people and the price is steep - veggie tray, good cheese, shrimp are the appetizers. Main meal is not organic, but also not canned. Fresh though (green beans for example or true mashed potatoes).

I started delegating to keep costs down. Plus, people like bringing things and contributing so a win-win.

$50 for 10 people sounds really low, there's no way I could do it for that. We're doing have a small dinner with immediate family + grandma, but we'll probably have enough food for ten (with leftovers ). I think it'll run around $200, not including wine. But we make tons of everything and eat leftovers for a week - maybe they meant enough food for ten servings only???

Probably $200 for just 8. But we bought two (small) organic turkeys and they were pretty pricy. Lots of different veggies, and spices that we don't keep on hand.

Not even tons of alcohol because my family doesn't drink much. A couple six packs of beer and I'm making cranberry sangria.

I just read an article that said the average cost of thanksgiving for 10 people is $50. I'm either doing something wrong or that article was way off. I'm going to be over $200 easily by the time I do my last round of shopping. What is normal for everyone else?
