Another Outlander obsession here. My mom and I both started reading them like twenty years ago as each one came out. Still love them, and she is still writing them...

+1 for Diana Gabaldon and the Outlander series. Sort of obsessed with them.

Holy crap, I am 40 and read a bunch of those in middle school - such steamy goodness. Had forgotten all about them. Now that my memory has been jogged, Shanna was definitely the best one. Excellent for grocery store books.

Lol! I was the same. I discovered her books in high school and read every one over the years. They were mostly written in the early 80's but since they are historical it doesn't matter. Her books are the only historical romance novels I ever read. I could never find a comparable author. When I saw this thread her books instantly came to mind

If you read on Kindle or with a Kindle app on your iPad, etc., try my book!

Creole Moon: A Novel of New Orleans

My book has a 4-star Amazon rating and a romantic New Orleans 19th century atmosphere.

How explicit and what era?

Very explicit! Like erotic romance. And really any era, though I do love those Britain "1400s-1900s" novels.
