Enjoy your Xanax, but don't look to Mick for approval.

We are not idiots. Of course we realize the song is about how bleak and unfulfilling modern life feels. That is the whole point and why some of us can relate to it so well.

Try vigorous exercise.

I wouldn't look to the Rolling Stones for fulfillment. Really?

I don't take pills, but I probably should have when I had PPd and didn't know it. That was a miserable time for me and I yearn to have those days of early babyhood back so I could enjoy it more.

So forget that song, op. Take your half a pill each day and affirm that it's helping you enjoy your life. Dwelling on it is worthless. Like eating a delicious chocolate cake and crying about the calories. What a waste!! just enjoy the pill (and chocolate cake) for what it gives to you. Positivity!

Bring on the wine, OP!

This PP seems like a real drag! or an uptight little lady!

Don't have any, but I don't judge women who need it occasionally. We're all wired differently.

Also, it's a good song.

I relate! I was just thinking today, it would be nice to have "mother's little helper." I have some, but it's only for emergencies like having a family member rushed to the hospital.

Though I only take 1/2 a xanax ~every month or so to help me sleep, I just love the lyrics to this song. They "speak' to me. Am I the only one? (I am not referring to the overdose or busy dying day part, just the frustrations of daily living)

THE ROLLING STONES LYRICS
Play Music
"Mother's Little Helper"

What a drag it is getting old
"Kids are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she's not really ill
There's a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day
"Things are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Cooking fresh food for a husband's just a drag
So she buys an instant cake and she burns her frozen steak
And goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And two help her on her way, get her through her busy day
Doctor please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old
"Men just aren't the same today"
I hear ev'ry mother say
They just don't appreciate that you get tired
They're so hard to satisfy, You can tranquilize your mind
So go running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And four help you through the night, help to minimize your plight
Doctor please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old
"Life's just much too hard today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
The pusuit of happiness just seems a bore
And if you take more of those, you will get an overdose
No more running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
They just helped you on your way, through your busy dying day
