Last night on an NPR story they labeled children born in the mid90's as the "Z" generation. So, look out millennials, the next one is on your tail.

It isn't a trend, it is the age. I did or didn't do the same things in my 20's.

So 25 year olds don't have homes and kids? I never would have guessed. Do they also not have wills and cemetery plots?

I'm 31 and a millenia...PP, I think you might be the eldest of our generation.

I have the majority of these things. I think the article is premature in its assessment. If the average millenial is 25, how do we know whether our generation will purchase homes or have kids? The average first time mom and dad is 26 and 28/29 respectively.

I'm 33 - am I a millennial?

+1 They'll just do the marriage and kids later, which won't be as big a deal since the women have frozen their eggs.

Most will eventually get married and have kids. All this tells me is that everything is being delayed because of a jobless recovery. In a few more years you'll start to see things change and BAM pent up demand will be unleashed. I wouldn't want to be looking for a house when all these pathological savers are shopping for one, that's for sure.

I think there are a lot of industries that are potentially threatened down the road even if millenials end up in the suburbs with cars, etc.

RVs, boats, everything to do with huge homes, etc. Just all of the stuff. Home theaters, swimming pools, etc. I think millenials will remain more minimalist overall. All they need is a small home, a laptop, and their iPhone. Vegetable garden out back, furnish the house from thrift stores.

I'm 27 and it mostly rang true for me.. Except I'm married with 2 kids and health insurance!
