How about throwing ribs in the crockpot instead of buying? That's what we are having the day after Thanksgiving.

If you want to order to bring home, Ritz in Tyson's is offering. I got an e-mail from them - turkey or ribs.

Never tried Famous Dave's, so I can't say about that. If I were staying close for convenience, I'd go for Rocklands before Red Hot & Blue.

+1 for Willard's. Worth the drive, IMO.

Though I was kind of hoping you'd smoke them yourself! Was about to recommend doing them dry-rubbed, not sauced.

Willard BBQ in Chantilly is good.

But I like Famous Dave's just fine if its more convenient.

I host Thanksgiving dinner for my in laws (who in every other way except their food taste are wonderful), but I really miss great food on Thanksgiving, but MIL brings all the food. It doesn't have to be fancy to be great, and yours sounds awesome. I'll be thinking of you next Thursday!

I'd probably do Famous Dave's or Red, Hot and Blue. I don't know of any non-chain barbecue in Northern Virginia that's really worth traveling for.

That sounds like a yummy idea to me. I know it is not some folks favorite, but I really like the ribs at Famous Daves. Also any of the Great American Restaurants ribs are great but I don't know if they will do them in a catering package like you might like.

Let us know what else you find out please.

After many years of turkey and all the sides, my family is ready to wave the white flag on the big turkey meal. Their request? BBQ ribs and mac and cheese. As the host, who am I to argue?

Does anyone know of a place that is including ribs in a take-out Thanksgiving capacity? (We have 3 kids under the age of 7, and do not want to go to a sit down restaurant.) We are used to picking up our Thanksgiving food orders either on Wednesday or Thanksgiving Day. Ideally Northern Virginia, but willing to travel if it's worth it!
