My kids is also allergic to food dyes and he goes to private. I have to pack him a lunch every day because the catering company refuses to stop using dyes. I usually oppose banning things, but this stuff SHOULD be banned. Everywhere. There's nothing beneficial about it, only harmful, and it's not like kids are making the informed choice to consume it. It's just IN EVERYTHING. When my kid is sick, I can't even medicate him half the time because almost all the meds have dyes.

Wish that PG would but doubt that they will. Why take care of the poor kids? Feed them junk...

Welp. Looks like I'll be continuing to prepare my child's lunch as she enters kindergarten.

I agree! It seems there's not much enthusiasm for reforming food in pgcps. I wish there were.

Recently found out that artificial dyes have been contributing to my child's hyper-activeness. After doing some research, I see that back in 2009 Maryland had the chance to become the first state to ban artificial foods and dyes.

More recently Montgomery Co has removed artificial dyes and sweetners

It would be SO great if PG county would do the same. Saveourkids!
