No, we are moving into the big leagues. Five guys is coming. Wheaton is close but it's a hassle with traffic and most of those places are dives and gross.

If someone needs to list Chipotle as their go-to place, you know there's a dearth of good food options in that particular area. Good news is that Kensington is a mile away from Wheaton. If you are willing to brave the bad drivers, there's pretty much every ethnic food done well.

That dive on Metropolitan?? It's just a crappy counter and a few broken down chairs. Plus, it smells funny and the food tastes off.

I wouldn't eat the pizza at Manny's and the gyros are subpar. The Old Town Deli next to Sub-Urban has great sandwiches, but you could barely count it as eat-in.

We went to frankly pizza tonight and they were very welcoming and kid friendly. The others I would not try.

Yes, Suburban Trading Company now has a dining room in the back. I think it is open for lunch and dinner and they serve beer and wine. I've been with neighborhood moms once or twice. I don't think I have seen kids there but the food was very good.

The only ones I will eat at are frankly pizza, chipolte and mannys. The others are overpriced and well.....

I thought the same thing about Suburban Trading Company, but if you read the article OP linked to, it seems to indicate that it has expanded and made a dining room in the back...? I had no idea, and I am at or near that shopping center all the time - Johnsons, Growing Years, the Market, the post office, etc. Learn a new thing every day.

Another shout-out for Frankly Pizza. Get there early to avoid the wait and definitely get the brownie.

Agree that K Town is great but I've never taken my kids there, it's kind of a ladies who lunch place. I've had Frankly Pizza at the Farmer's Market and it is terrific but I haven't been to the restaurant yet. I didn't think you could eat in at Suburban Trading but maybe I'm wrong?

K Town Bistro isn't new. I think it's quite good but not necessarily good for small children, so YMMV depending on your kids' ages. I haven't been to the other two but am glad to see them, as there's a real dearth of restaurants in Kensington.

There is an article in Bethesda Magazine on three relatively new restaurants in Kensington, Frankly Pizza, Sub*Urban Trading Co. and K Town Bistro (http://www.bethesdamagazine.com/Bethesda-Magazine/November-December-2014/Dine-Review-Threes-Company-FranklyPizza-SubUrban-Trading-Co-and-K-Town-Bistro/). It reminded me that I want check them out and also support my neighborhood's local businesses.

I'm trying to decide which, if any, we could go to as a family this weekend. The pizza one would be okay for my oldest but my younest doesn't eat pizza.

Any experiences or suggestions? Thanks.
