What a stupid comment. Its not helicoptering, its notifying the admin that a student is potentially being abused.

Is the other child being abused?

This is a case of "older sibling syndrome"

Mention it to the teacher and leave it for her to handle.

OMG, just let it go. Kids say stuff. If your DS is upset by it, he needs to walk away. Thats a good lesson to learn. If you go running to the teacher over something like this -- and the principal is even worse -- you will be an over protective PITA.

Why in the world do so many of you think the principal needs to be notified? I had this issue come up as a first grade teacher and the parents brought it to me. I handled it. Can't imagine why my principal would have been needed at that point.

I would email the teacher and tell her/him that there is inappropriate sex talk at the lunch table where your child sits for several days now, that it is graphic sex talk, and you would like more monitoring of the table or a new placement of some of the boys.

I would tell DS to sit with other people, and I'd tell the teacher and ask what would be done about it. If you know the names of the kids, I'd provide them.

DS is in 3rd grade in a public School. It seems there are a bunch of boys sitting together during lunch time. One boy has been talking about
Inappropriate things and jokes(private parts), the other boys all think it's funny and laugh. DS came back and told me the jokes, sometimes tried to use it.
I stopped him and told him it's not age appropriate, asked him not copy.
Today, DS told me what this boy said, it made me really concerned. The boy mentioned guys holds penis and tongue licked together. I was shocked.
DS has no idea what it means, just thinking it's funny. I don't want DS to hear this kind of things everyday from this boy.
Am I overreact here? Should I tell the teacher or the principle? Let them talk to the boy's parents. It happened during lunch time.
