In our experience, Yu Ying does not allow red shirting for the lottery, even for August birthdays. Even past K, when the child would have needed to catch up.

YY does take kids at K, but there are very, very few openings. I think they had one this year.

Actually Sela's Future is Incredibly Bright from what I see on a daily basis as a Parent of a PreK4 student at Sela. Sela has an excellent Faculty and Staff and only one teacher has left that I know of since my child started at the beginning of the year so Im not sure where you are getting your information from. I also would not consider Sela under enrolled, they are still a Start up school and consistently growing in numbers as Factual information continues to spread. I cant speak to last year (their first year in existence) but can we stay in the present please? Sela is an awesome school and we are really glad we found it

Our Kindergartener started at Bethune in Spanish immersion this year. Was worried about the transition to immersion (feeling behind the kids who attended PS-3 and PK-4) but no issues at all. Loving it.

Are there any openings at K and can a new student start then? Besides Stokes and Sela what are the other charter immersion choices? Can you apply for a summer birthday kid to start in PK instead of K at any of these schools, or is the Sep 1 date totally fixed, no exceptions? Thanks.
