Frosting is super easy to make. Powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, a bit of milk, and coloring (gel coloring is best) if you want. All the store bought versions have so many weird ingredients to make them shelf stable, I'd avoid. You didn't say dairy free.

You don't even need a stand mixer. A hand held is fine. Just be sure the butter is room temp.
