I agree. My friend's DC applied to four additional schools, regular admission, that he could definitely see himself attending and most likely to be admitted.Anonymous wrote:This is the downside of binding ED. PP again. This wasn't ED though but RD. Not that my initial choices weren't great schools, there were just more options from everything from majors to off-campus activities with the two additional 'on paper' schools. Because time was short, we visited the two on weekends.
It's actually not too late for other options.

If there isn't enough time to visit more schools in person, there is still enough time to 'visit' and apply on paper if there are additional schools that might be appealing. If accepted, you could try and visit between admittance and the acceptance deadline.
In my parents infinite wisdom, that is what they made me do with two additional schools. I ended up choosing one of the two which turned out to be a better fit than the ones I chose. Not that my initial choices weren't great schools, there were just more options from everything from majors to off-campus activities with the two additional 'on paper' schools. Because time was short, we visited the two on weekends.

Subject: Sort of regretting encouraging ed
We gave DC a choice but emphasized the advantages of ed (increasing chances, being done early). Already I am having second thoughts that DC hasn't seen enough schools to really have a favorite and won't have options if accepted. Silly, I know. But kids still change so much at this age, and what seemed like the clear first choice in September may not still seem like the best choice come April, or next year.
