What you need is a smaller couch - which will be smaller in all dimensions. PB has some I believe.

I hate these deep couches! What is with that?
For the one you have, you could get some extra pillows and place them in front of the back pillows until you find something that works for you.

We really like our couch from crate and barrel. We had very specific dimensions in mind and we could only get what we needed there. Very comfortable and stands upwell to two kids and a cat.

Subject: Need shallow couch with better back support
We have the Amalfi sofa from Haverty's and it's killing my back. I'm 5'8" and DH is 6'0" and there is just way too much distance between the edge of the couch and the back support. Anyone have a suggestion for a comfy shallow couch with really good back support?
