That's a nice color. Great for a kids's room. Yes, I'd use decals. You could make a forest, or a jungle, or any kind of natural setting. I'd use white bookcases and a kids table with other pops of color.

And while painting is easy, the prep is a A LOT of work.

omg. OP. Listen to me. I moved into a house with a great room with sage colored walls. Wasn't horrible; kind of nice, but not what I would have chosen. I decorated around it, using old pieces of furniture that sort of worked, and bought some as well. This went on for years.

One day an old friend came over who was a designer and explained to me that painting the walls is the easiest thing EVER to do--just push the furniture into the middle and cover with a drop cloth and do it. (to be fair, I had someone do it for me, LOL) But we are talking about one or two days of inconvenience, here.

And then I got the furniture I wanted etc, and that room is fabulous. Fabulous. I can't believe I spent YEARS trying to make everything work with the green walls! I can't believe I bought things just to fit with those walls. argggh. lesson learned.

WOW!!! These are all fantastic ideas! I went from daunted by the space to really excited!

Get a large piece of wood, sand the surface and paint with two layers of metallic paint then one layer of chalkboard paint and mount it on the wall at kid height.

Install two heavy screw in hooks into the wall (screen into studs), then get a large pad of paper (like for meeting rooms) drill holes through the binding at the top and hang on the hooks, put boxes of stickers, crayons, color pencils, whatever next to the pad.

Install a clothes hanging rack/rod about 3' height that sticks out about 2 feet from the wall. Go to the thrift store and buy all sorts of clothes that can be used for dress up and hang on the rack.

Get one of those kid's tents (we have one that is a carnival tent) and put it in the corner. My kids like to have a place out of sight sometimes just to hide away when they want a little bit of privacy. They love to play in there or take toys in and out.

I assume you're in the dc area? I think one of those vinyl decals of a cherry blossom tree would be cool, and thematic for DC . And maybe a white toy bench (that could do double duty of holding toys and being seating).

I really like the color, so is definitely keep it.

My dd's walls are green. Not *that* green but green. Her bedspread and curtains are lavender and we have a tree decal and flower art on the walls. It's a little bit "treehouse". I love it although I never would have picked that color.

I would accent with navy and gray. I love bright colors and though I prefer a olive green this could be a cool color for kids.

Buy some big letters and paint them navy, paint the kids names.

Get some bookshelves to hold toys, paint them gray.

Just paint it. 2 gallons of paint and you're done! Lowes is having a paint sale this weekend even. $10 off each gallon.

Me personally? I'd just paint it. If you are moving and its an empty room with no furniture its going to be super easy to paint it. That being said we just moved to a new house and painting that room wasn't a priority so our play room is still beige. I am debating whether or not to paint a fun color or just jazz it up with wall decals that we can change at anytime. If you don't want to paint, I'd get some wall decals. Etsy has tons!

We're moving, so it's someone else's choice of décor. The room is perfect for a playroom, but the walls are REALLY GREEN!!! However, it's freshly painted, and seems like a waste to paint over it, so I figured I'd roll with it. The rug is beige, the ceiling and trim is bright white.

It's basically going to be a room that holds toys, so no offsetting with furniture (although maybe a bookcase and some bean bags?) or bedding, etc. I'd like to do something that breaks up the REALLY GREEN part of it. Maybe some stick on wall murals? Fun prints? Any theme that I could capitalize on that starts with green?
