I feel like Parenthood has been consistently hokey throughout. I accept it and enjoy the show anyway. It's escapist entertainment for me. You watch, you cry, but you're not depressed because it's not realistic anyway. Just look at their ridiculous houses.

So, I really don't get how people are so outraged by the contrived storylines this season. I mean, if you didn't know that Joel and Julia would get back together in some cheeseball way, what show have you been watching?

The Joel and Julia thing was dumb to begin with and it's just annoying now.

I don't buy Natalie and what's his name as an item at all.

The best scenes are the ones with Adam and Crosby screaming at each other.

But I thought the Julia/Joel storyline was good...until the declaration at the end (too quick, easy).

I don't like how the randomly bring up Hank's issues to create conflict and then other times make it seem like he understands everything perfectly.

The whole thing with Amber seemed random/out of place. I get that they need to show this, but it just seems very contrived.
