This is what I was going to say. If you use mini hot dogs, cut each crescent roll into 3 pieces.

I think there are 8 per container. Four rectangles, each perforated diagonally into two triangles. You should be able to confirm when you see the package (if it isn't obviously labelled, check the serving size and "servings per package").
