This works great but I've found the cost to be around $100-125. I've done this with several pairs of boots in the past but have been ordering from Duo lately BC it's easier/cheaper.

+1 for Duo. You order online based on shoe size and calf size. Some of the other brands mentioned above (Frye) are huge on my skinny calves.

On Zappos you can narrow your search by calf width - something I've found very helpful!

I tighten the straps to the last notch, and voila--no gapping at the calves! The boots are gorgeous.

PP here. I have not yet found a tall Frye boot that is great for skinny calves.

I have these and would not recommend for thin calves. My calves are approx 13" and these boots are huge on me, not fitted at all. I would recommend La Canadienne, Many of their styles are quite fitted for narrow calves.

I got some Clark's that fit my very thin calves.

If you have extremely skinny calves, try Duo boots.

I have narrow calves and just deal with a little bit of bag as long as the boots are more "sturdy"- then I don't think it looks as bad. I have Fryes, Ariats, Luchese (sp?) and a bunch bought at random stores abroad. I find that the ones that are sort of thinker/stand up on their own look OK if they are a little baggy because they don't do that bunch and sag as much. Think pull on styles.

I would try to get to a boots/western/riding store. You would be surprised what they have that isn't just cowboy boots or "real" riding boots. These places are generally expensive but I've found awesome stuff.

Does anyone have suggestions? I'm looking for all leather (not the stretch neoprene or whatever in the back), brown/congac tall boots (not over the knee) for a skinny-calved girl....
