My child was identified as a candidate, did very well on the tests, we got the letter/application in the mail and that was it. We're not applying.

we didn't send in the application until today. maybe you sent yours in early and DCCPS (or whatever) let them know and they didn't reach out with reminders

Thanks. Our school called us directly (not a robo call, a call with someone at the school) a couple of years ago to see if our child was planning to apply. They have not called this year for our current 3rd grader and I was trying to figure out if the calls were targeted.

Not at all. They send two messages total, through the school newsletter.

I meant individual calls, not the mass robo calls.

They seem to send out multiple reminders to all.

Does yor school call 3rd grade parents to encourage them to apply? I'm wondering if they call everyone or only families who have a student who is a good candidate.
