I wouldn't skip the doctor appointment. But I wouldn't be overly concerned, either.

Humidifier. We used neosporin. I got them often as a child through college. Eventually they stopped. It is the dry air but have an ent verify it.

She probably had so many because the original bleed never really had a chance to heal/close up properly. If she has allergies and is rubbing her nose a lot, the nosebleeds re-occur (I am speaking from my own experience as a child and as the parent of an allergic-nosebleeder). The Vaseline will help as will allergy meds (if that is an issue). Get it checked out if you are concerned, but then try to be proactive to prevent it from happening again.

Good call - we do that too (DS has them often - as did one of his grandfathers as a child).

But if its a cool mist humidifier, make sure it is CLEAN. They fill up with bacteria/fungi/algea fairly fast and that can be harmful. We use diluted vinegar or diluted bleach to clean it.

It its a hot mist one, then the water is boiled to turn it into steam, so its less of a concern.

Agree with pp. we use the saline drops. Allergies/dry air brings them on. Nose bleeds are usually only medically a concern if there are a lot of other far more serious symptoms going on and for a sustained period of time.

my kids have only gotten nosebleeds a couple of times each, and in both cases it was when they were feeling really stressed (ie, first day at new school, etc.)

Get some saline nasal gel at the drugstore and use a Q-tip to put some in your child's nose every night and every morning. This has stopped my DD's daily nosebleeds.

My kids both had nosebleeds over the weekend. Pretty sure it's the dry air.

I remember having HORRIFIC nosebleeds at that age. My daycare once called 911 because of it.

Definitely dry air, nosepicking and probably some quirks of the nasal anatomy, but nothing to worry about.

Vaseline up the nose works well. Really work it up there.

at bedtime after bath put some petroleum jelly up there to avoid drying

Yesterday, my dd's had 4 nosebleeds; today at school she had 2. I'm sure that she was picking/otherwise irritating her nose, plus the air is dry with the cold weather and the heat is on. Would you be concerned? I called the doctor and was surprised that they wanted to see me ASAP.
