I've done everything my antivirus program told me to do, so we will see if it happens again.

On a side note, do you recommend a particular anti-virus software?

Honestly, I run Mac OS X without any anti-virus software. I've never used anti-virus on Mac OS X and never had a malware problem. I will say for those who are not computer savvy, or are very gullible, anti-virus software might be necessary. But, for otherwise, it's not on OS X.

Our website does not use Java. So, you should never get such an error. For that matter, I suggest turning off Java (not Javascript, but Java) in your browser altogether. That said, a ad might be causing this issue as ad networks are occasionally exploited to distribute malware. If your anti-virus programs provide the URL causing the problem, please post that here so that I can look into it. If the problem is caused by an ad, chances are very slim that I would happen to get the same ad.

I've been having this as well, getting bumped to a page that urges updating my java. Suspect, and very irritating. Any idea what's up?

Like PP, it seems to happen only on DCUM. I'm using Firefox & Norton 360 if that makes a difference. My java is up to date.

Hi, Jeff, over the past week I keep getting bumped to a different page asking to update Java, and my anti-virus has indicated this new page is malware or a virus (can't remember). But it only seems to be happening when I'm on DCUM (which, granted, is often). I have no clue if they are connected, just an FYI in case they are.
