I wouldn't bet on a full ride with that SAT, but from a number of CTCL type schools here you can probably get a net price somewhere near in-state cost. Top 30 has tons of kids with those stats and more. If that's what he's looking for then ante up if you can get an admit. Not much else you can do.

Probably no or very small token merit from top 30. SAT is not enough for anything significant even at the next tier schools, IMHO.

Denison, Hobart, South Carolina, Ohio Wesleyan.

Unfortunately with those scores getting in to the top 30 will be a challenge, much less merit aid (mine had scores 100-150 or so points higher and got in to schools in the 20s but no aid).

How about Dickinson? Also, any of the Colleges that Change Lives would be a good bet for a full ride merit scholarship.

SAT in the 2000-2100 range. 3.98 unweighted average. Several APs. Well rounded ECs but nothing extraordinary. Applying early decision to an in-state school. If DC doesn't get in early decision, we need a back up plan! He has seen some privates he likes, but they are pretty competitive (USNWR top 30 or so), so doubt he would get merit aid (which we would like; we won't qualify for financial aid). Any thoughts on what schools give merit aid to kids with these stats? DC prefers smaller schools. TIA!
