We haven't had cable for 5 years together and I haven't had it for 10 years. Yeah we miss sports so we pick the games we care about and go watch at a bar or afriends house. Also radio for local football.

Sports are tricky. We use the mlb & nhl network stuff to watch baseball/hockey and don't see as many of the football games. But local football is always broadcast on local networks, so that helps. End up missing most of the NCAA tournaments (especially women), which sucks but it's not worth it to get cable for just that little bit.

I cancelled cable a few months ago. I don't miss anything. Whatever is on netflix is good enough for me.

fios has made it such that the delta between internet+phone and internet+phone+cable isn't that great.

So the value prop isn't there.

DH misses the sports. I am all set with Amazon Prime and Hulu.

We bought a Roku so we could stream everything; now we pay for expensive cable AND netflix, prime and Hulu plus. Total fail. It was the sports.

Husband is too into sports. I would ditch cable in an instant.

We cut the cord and could not be happier, as a direct result of Comcast's terrible customer service. My husband can still watch NFL and World Series on network TV in high def. Don't miss all the Disney channel sarcasm and snark in my house.

Greatly miss March Madness, although the UNC scandal has cast a shadow on the NCAA.

We cut the cable cord 2 1/2 years ago. Honestly we really don't miss it. I recently visited my mom for a week and was really sick so was happy to binge-watched reality tv, but once I got back to real life I didn't miss it at all. My life is just not all that worse without Dance Moms!

Many live sporting events (Monday Night Football, we missed the ALCS, a lot of bowl games only on cable), live series (I watch/watched Breaking Bad and Mad Men long after water cooler discussion has died down), and binge tv like HGTV and reality tv. We still don't miss it. And our broadcast reception sucks, too! We need an antenna on the roof but haven't gotten around to it yet.

We're thinking of doing this. Is there any reason not to? What will we miss -- if anything -- if we do?
