I have a consult scheduled with Dr. F for late October, but I will be 41 later this year and need to get going on this if it's going to happen at all. I don't have really unusual infertility circumstances--just poor egg quality and DOR. I just don't have time or money to experiment with someone who is less experienced, which is why I initially signed up to see him.
Is it really the case, as someone described above, that at GW it would be typical to have an initial consult and then it would take several months to get going? I have been with another RE out of state for a year and we've done all the tests you can do. We're ready to get going and want to be able to just pick up where we leave off with the other RE. Has anyone else been able to do this fairly seamlessly and quickly at GW?

He was very blunt and said that no other procedure would work for our particular case and that IVF would be the only way we could get pregnant. I agree with the other commenter who said you will wait a long to see him - that is an understatement. Expect to wait 8 weeks for first appointment and 4 weeks between follow ups. It can be a bit frustrating, but I do think he's great. I can't comment on the other two doctors because I haven't met him, but I do know that Dr. F handpicked Dr. L for the practice, so I would trust her.
I've found this to be pretty infuriating. I can see having to wait a long time to get into the practice, but established patients should be able to get appointments much more quickly. When I call for a follow-up I've been told the first available is 2 months out, which is just unreasonable.
