Make with crispies, trix, or coco crispies. You can mold into shapes using a silicon mold, or make the standard pan. You can add coloring to the mallow mixture, or extracts (try hazelnut extract with cocoa crispies).

Scotcharoos are a bigger hit here. Just as easy to make and SO yummy! They also "keep" longer than RKT's. Although they never last long LOL

couple things that makes them taste really good:
when you are melting the butter, brown it a little bit...and also add a little course sea salt to the mixture

Maybe the day before if you keep them sealed up airtight. Although I do personally like dry/stale RCTs.

I would go with regular chocolate - I think a ganache would be too soft.

Bear with me; these did not play a large part in my childhood. Rice was eaten every day but not in krisped form.

So, how far in advance can I make these for a party?

And if I want to dip them in chocolate, is it better to use plain chocolate or make a ganache?
