If you're still seeing the PT, I'd ask if it's related to the low tone, however, lots of toddlers go through a picky eating stage. Try a nibble tray: http://www.askdrsears.com/topics/feeding-eating/feeding-infants-toddlers/picky-eater

I would probably give a warning not to spit the food out then take it away if it continues. Repeat that we swallow our food, not spit it out, and try again after a few minutes.

Ours does the same, and she has zero development issues. If she does it because the food is say, too hot or too spicy, we don't do anything. Otherwise, we remove the dinner plate immediately, remind her that we don't spit out our food, and return the plate a few minutes later so she can try again.

Recently my 2 yo has started spitting out her food. She'll chew it up, go to swallow it and spit it out. She's also hardly eating any food. Any thoughts? She had physical therapy for some low-tone issues from 15-20 months. At the time, she was hardly eating solids but had some constipation issues. Once we had the constipation issues under control her eating really improved.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?
