10:51 again. If desperate, you could consider cutting your shoes' toebox. I've read about others doing this -- http://fellrnr.com/wiki/Shoes -- and so it seems possible. I guess you could just cut a little porthole at the tip for your long toe to come through. If I were in your shoes (ha!), I'd experiment with an old pair first though, and start small with the cutting. Or alternatively, you could Google search for others who have cut the toebox to free the long toe. Lots of people have a long second toe, so surely some enterprising runner has tried DIY shoe modifications before. Good luck, and please let us know if you try!

Me too. I've developed a callus on the tip of my right 2nd toe. It helps that I pushed my shoe up half a size and wear thick thorlo-type socks, but still hurts some after long runs.

I have this and it is a pain, I gave up on worrying about it when my podiatrist said he could shorten the toes. No thank you, I'm fine with them the way they are!

Maybe try out Nike, or look for other brands that run very narrow? There are also a lot of shoes on the market these days with big toeboxes. I'm thinking maybe Altra?

Me too. I regularly lose that toenail when I am training for a race. I've been fitted and my latest shoes are better. I found the lacing pattern that secures the heel and tightening through the instep helps a bit.

Your shoes might be too wide if you go up a size and they still hit. Get fitted for different shoes? I have the same problem and honestly, I just kind of deal with purple toenails if I run above a certain distance.

When I'm running, my second toes kill me because they are longer than the big toes by a lot. If I go up a size in my shoes, then my foot slides around and makes it worse. If I stay in my current shoes, the nails on/tip of those toes take the brunt of all impact as I increase distance. Anyone BTDT? Suggestions?
