Some dermatologists cover medical facials - which is good if you have a low co pay like I do. I'm 40 and have a few breakouts here and there. They did extractions, chemical peels and microdermabrasion. It helped! (I did accutane as a teen and it did wonders for my skin).

There are plenty of people who have tried Accutane and found it is not permanent. I am one of them.

Birth control pills? You may have to try a few to find the right one. Spironolactone is a miracle cure for many women with this issue. I suffer too (at 36) and I found the best dermatologist I could (tried 3).

Hema Sundaram's office in Arlington does extraction facials with an esthetician. I got them years ago but I would expect they still do them. It's a salesy practice but if you're just doing facials you avoid all of that.

The only thing that has worked for me long term (Accutane worked for a few years and then the acne came back) is Retin-A plus a birth control pill.

If a derm can't fix it a facial won't. And if you refuse the derm's treatments idk what you expect.

I have seen a dermatologist. Many times. I am trying to cover all bases.

A facial isn't going to fix this. Not sure why you won't see a derm.

I am so tired of breaking out, I am 38. Does anyone have a good person who has helped with facials on a regular basis? Not looking for a dermatologist. ..been down that road before. Thanks in advance...I am getting to thr point of embarrassment.
