Seizures are very common for kids with autism. If you are concerned that your DC is having seizures talk to your developmental pediatrician. They can refer you for testing.

23:46@ yes my child have autism. mild to moderate. she babbles some words I am not sure we can say that as complete non-verbal. Can you please refer any MAPS certified autism doc. I visited only dev ped and other physicians not MAPS autism doc.

Does your child have an autism diagnosis? My child does and is completely non-verbal. We took her to a MAPS certified autism doc who said than he highly suspects seizures in non-verbal/low verbal kids. He recommended an overnight EEG. While my non-verbal child never exhibited any outward signs of seizures, low and behold the EEG revealed that she was having significant seizures during sleep. We've only just started treating them, but I'm hopeful based on what I've been reading that this intervention will bring speech. OP, I would go to an ENT and get her hearing checked. I would also go to a developmental pediatrician and get a global assessment. Childrens or KKI. You'll usually on a wait list for a while.

It's fine to move forward with the assessments/evaluations you've scheduled, but a developmental pediatrician will be able to pull all the loose ends together.

Just so you know, the gibberish is technically called "jargon." So you might hear this term used.

You should also look into getting a private speech evaluation.--Done (almost 1 month with private ST)

If you are also concerned about her receptive language (which is a bigger deal than just an expressive language delay), you should also get a global evaluation by a developmental pediatrician--based on dev ped--I am taking ST/ABA.

What have those professionals said? They should be giving you clear and specific suggestions of what you can be doing. Their suggestions will be better than anything an anonymous forum can suggest, since we don't know your child. If they haven't given you specific things to do, press them for suggestions.

For my child, just therapy. It came when it was ready and exposure was helpful as he gained far more than many realize.

How is her receptive language? That is, if you ask her to get her shoes, does she seem to understand you?

Hi All,

My DD is 3yrs old and she only talks gibberish. sometimes she do sing/hum rhymes that too only tunes. but when we interrupt or try to sing same song she will move on to some other rhyme(tune).

every day we try to say /teach her simple words like apple, cow, dog--she don't even say single word or letter.

Speech therapy /ABA sessions are ON and also under process of child find evaluation. But would like to dig in more so that I can head towards right direction.

is it a speech delay issue/ her brain is not catching up these words. But she do follow some commands very well.

Please give some suggestions so that we can work harder at home.
