not into EL Haynes or cap city or two rivers. Not into traditional dcps programs (though I have a soft spot for Eaton which reminds me of my elementary school growing up). Immersion and monetssouri and sws were our top choices. Did put creative minds and ITS on list but felt a little 'eh' about them. Would have died for Lamb (didn't get it).

IT- I wouldnt say filthy at all, not even dirty. It did seem like a school in a non school like building doing what they could. I have seen the new building (friend at Lee) and it is beyond beautiful. We plan to apply to both schools.

PPs, it might be helpful to also post what school you decided to go with.

For example, for the PP who didn't like IT or Lee, what school did you end up going with? A JKLMM? Private?

No on Montessori, and not that into Haynes, Cap City or Yu Ying. Glad I did school visits for open houses because at the end of the day, I ranked schools on where I thought my kid and our family would do best, regardless of desirability.

When I see posts like this (or questioning the passion/excitement around certain curricula or bilingual programs, etc), it sounds to me like a parent isn't interested but is worried they are missing some important factor and is really reaching out to be assured they are not making some huge mistake. Is that what's going on for you OP? Because there's no reason to feel weird about not being interested in a particular school or type of school. Seems like you just want reassurance in your lack of interest, which I don't really understand.

I'm a YY parent, and I can't at all imagine why you'd feel sheepish about not being interested?? There are schools I'm not interested in, and I was clear when I was applying that families are different, interests are different, logistical concerns are different, and it's actually a GOOD thing that everyone in the world don't all want the *exact* same schools in the *exact* same order of preference (or at all). That is a good thing, and nothing to even slightly feel uneasy or "sheepish" about.

I wasn't particularly interested in dual language schools (any language). I also wasn't interested in Powell or any of the WotP schools.

Not interested in Yu Ying. Not interested in Mundo Verde.

OP, you're only going to end up at one school. You don't need to feel sheepish about anything. Were you looking for advice on which schools to pick?

I know everyone loves Yu Ying, but we're just not excited about immersion in a language that we as parents cannot assist with at all. We're also not excited about the possibility that if DS does become fluent, he may want to move to China when he grows up! So we're not going to spend one of our limited lottery picks on what appears to be a great school, even though I feel sort of sheepish about it.
